Jackbox Webdesign - Teambuilding

Jackbox was started by Ralph Morris BA MA (pictured left) in 1999. Formerly a lecturer in Media (Radio Production) at Colchester Institute, Ralph had many years of experience in Alternative Radio both as a presenter and editor. In 1995 he won the Radio Academy award for 'Best Radio Feature' based on his own experiences as a father, having lost his own son through cot death. Ralph now has a son (Michael pictured right) aged 7. Jackbox still supports charities focused around children, more recently 'MAMA', with Esther Rantzen as its patron.

Evolution of Jackbox

Since then, Jackbox has grown into a network of specialist programmers, investors and internet marketeers spread across the UK, Collectively, the Jackbox team has learnt much about the internet. The ingredients that go into making a website successful are numerous, and constantly changing but Jackbox has always maintained its position as a forward thinking company and remains at the cutting edge of internet promotion, marketing and design. We are currently heavily focused on Java and the .NET platform.

We have an enviable record in transforming existing web sites into ones that produce a healthy return on investment and all our sites are built based on careful planning and research.

Over the next four years, Jackbox will be concentrating on design, marketing and strategic business management. The marketing and the Internet business strategy of Jackbox will be taken over Bali Maan in 2004, an energetic individual with fresh ideas and a determination to make Jackbox more efficient. He already has a computer science degree from Birmingham and is presently studying for a MSc in e-commerce at University. Eventually it is hoped that Bali will be the driving force behind Jackbox and enable Ralph to do a spot of fishing and retire?

The Jackbox Team building Event

During the last year the Jackbox Webdesign team has expanded at such a pace (often under stress) that the Boss decided we should all go on a team-building day! The event was hosted for us by the Wild Events Team Building Company, The day began with a very amusing ice breaker activity where the facilitator put the team into a great rope tangle of ropes and we had to extricate ourselves, talk about a giant Chinese puzzle. We then had a number of team challenge games which we had to go though. It was surprising how much we learnt about the team and how that relates to the way we work together in the office. Then came the fun part - with at the quad bike bikes and an extraordinary driving experience where we had to take it in turns to drive a land rover with a blindfold on, while the other member of the team gave directions. Definately a lot of trust involved there and some valuable lessons which we took home with is. Highly recommended. A great day was had by all, we look forward to the next one.
